P2P crypto exchange software

P2P crypto exchange software for buying and selling with local money

Users post ads, pay each other by bank transfer, mobile money or any method you add, and the platform holds the crypto in escrow until the seller confirms the payment. When something goes wrong, your team settles it with the full order history in front of them.

Why P2P

Why exchanges add a P2P marketplace

In many countries, card processors and banks refuse to work with crypto businesses, or charge so much that buying a small amount of USDT is not worth it. P2P solves that. Users trade directly with each other using the payment methods they already have, and the exchange only moves the crypto.

Because the fiat never touches your accounts, P2P is often the fastest way to open a market where you have no banking partner yet. It also brings new users who later trade on your spot and futures markets.

No fiat on your books

Users pay each other directly. You hold only the crypto in escrow.

Any country

Add local banks, wallets and mobile money with their own fields.

Fee income

Maker and taker fees per coin, charged in crypto.

New users

A first purchase on P2P often leads to spot and futures trading.

Marketplace

Ads, filters and payment methods

The marketplace lists buy and sell ads for each coin and fiat currency. Every row shows the advertiser, their completed orders and completion rate, the price, the amount available, the order limits and the payment methods.

Posting an ad

  • Buy or sell, coin and fiat currency
  • Fixed price, or floating price as a percentage of the market rate (80% to 120%)
  • Total amount, minimum and maximum per order
  • Up to five payment methods and the time the buyer has to pay
  • Terms and an auto-reply message for every new order
  • Regions where the ad is shown

A sell ad locks its coins in escrow from the user's wallet as soon as it goes online, together with the maker fee, so every sell ad on the board is backed by real funds. Ads can be taken offline, edited or closed; closing returns what is left in escrow.

Finding an ad

Users filter by coin, currency, payment method and amount, sort by price, and can show verified merchants only. Ads from users who blocked them, or whom they blocked, never appear.

Order flow

How a P2P order works, step by step

  1. The taker opens an order

They enter an amount within the ad's limits and pick a payment method. For a sell order, their coins go into escrow at once.

  2. The buyer pays

The order screen shows the seller's payment details for that method and a countdown. The buyer pays outside the exchange.

  3. The buyer marks it paid

One tap tells the seller the money has been sent. The seller gets a notification.

  4. The seller releases

After checking the payment arrived, the seller confirms with 2FA and the coins move from escrow to the buyer.

  5. Both leave a review

The taker can rate the trade, and the advertiser can reply. Reviews build each trader's reputation.

If the buyer does not pay in time, the order is cancelled automatically and the coins return to the seller. Buyers cancel with a reason, which helps your team spot patterns.

Chat in every order

Buyer and seller talk inside the order, and can send screenshots of payment receipts.

Notifications

New orders, payments, releases and messages reach users by email and, in the app, by push.

2FA on release

Coins leave escrow only after the seller confirms with their second factor.

Appeals

Disputes handled with evidence, not guesswork

When a buyer says they paid and the seller says nothing arrived, either side can open an appeal. Sellers can do it straight away; buyers after a short wait from marking the order paid, which gives sellers time to check their bank.

  • The person appealing picks a reason, explains, and attaches proof such as bank receipts
  • The other side answers with their own explanation and files
  • Your P2P support staff see the order, chat and evidence and post a decision
  • Coins are released to the buyer or returned to the seller, and both get an email
  • The person who opened the appeal can withdraw it if the issue is solved

Only the two parties and your P2P support staff can see an appeal and its files.

Trust and reputation

Profiles, reviews and verified merchants

Strangers send each other money on P2P. The platform gives them what they need to decide who to trust.

Public profiles

Each trader has a profile with completed orders, completion rate, average time to pay and to release, positive and negative reviews, and their active ads. An online indicator shows who is available right now.

Verified merchants

Active traders can apply for merchant status. They must have verified identity first, then submit business documents that your team reviews. Approved merchants get a badge on every ad, and users can filter the market to merchants only.

Blocking

Users can block a trader with a reason. A block works both ways: neither side sees the other's ads or can open an order with them.

FAQ

P2P crypto exchange software questions

Which package includes P2P?

The P2P module is part of the Enterprise package. See pricing.

Does the exchange handle the fiat payment?

No. Buyers pay sellers directly using the payment method on the order. The exchange holds only the crypto in escrow and releases it when the seller confirms.

Which payment methods can I offer?

Any. You create payment methods in the admin panel, such as a bank, a mobile wallet or a cash app, with the fields a user must fill in and the currencies it supports.

What stops a seller from not releasing?

The buyer can open an appeal with proof of payment. Your support staff review the order, chat and evidence and can release the coins from escrow to the buyer.

How are P2P fees charged?

You set a maker fee and a taker fee per coin. The maker fee on a sell ad is held with the escrow; the taker fee is shown before the order is placed.

Can I restrict P2P to verified users?

Merchant status always requires verified identity. You can also require KYC for the whole platform in the settings.

Is P2P available in the mobile app?

Yes. The app includes the marketplace, orders with chat, appeals with photo uploads, reviews, ads, payment accounts and profiles.
